Another One Bites the Dust
A couple more Beta bugs bit the dust on Zipingo this week, with some cool enhancements to top it off.
I just hate it when stuff gets in the way of a user experience. Some Zipingo bugs were recently “exterminated.” Yessssssss! For example, some browse categories were not in alphabetical order. Well, now they are.
And while we’re on the subject, here are some new features:
• Location, Location, Location: The location field will now be updated with the city/state/zip when a zip code is provided by the user.
• Who Was that Masked Man?: You can now look up all the ratings by another user. This is especially useful if you want to know the quality of a person’s other ratings. It helps you judge whether or not to pay attention to his comments. You can put it in perspective (Is that the right phrase?) (shakes head) Well, anyway, you and another user may share similar tastes – so if you find a user who likes the same restaurants that you do, you might want to read her ratings on hair stylists, doctors and automobile shops. You never know. It could save you some time.
• Oh, Yeah? Prove It: Here’s one you’ve been waiting for. On the home page, the “New ratings in the past week” notice about your area is now clickable. So when we give you a number, you can actually see what we're talking about. Nice job, development team!
And while we do get lots of incoming e-mail with enhancement suggestions sent to us, Zipingo Team member Linda also tells me that she’s entered a few enhancement requests herself, based on what she’s read in the community forums.
By the way, if you’d like to get to know some of the team members, that is, put a face with a name, I’ve linked this blog to the “About Zipingo” page. That link is in the sidebar on your left. Where is my picture? Um....er....it's coming.
