Don't Look A Gift Horse In The Mouth

So I'm walking around one of the Intuit buildings in Tucson this week when I overhear one employee comment to another in the Oasis (break room) about a new goodie for employees.

Zipingo gift tags bucket"Did you get your Zipingo gift tags?," she said. Then I noticed a plastic bucket, decorated with tinsel on the counter. Yes, the holiday season is perfect timing to share one's enthusiasm about .

Hisham said this reminds him "of the good ol' days when companies used to do more of this kind of thing...giving employees goodies related to products." Intuit is like that. It seems every so often there's another cool doodad. Now where is that wooden backscratcher I got a few weeks ago?

But back to Zipingo. I was doing my weekly search of the Web. I started to see more and more links to our site via other people's blogs. Folks have started to notice and comment on . And Quicken 2006 users have already gotten a taste of how to rate a business when they're most likely to think about it after the fact. So the word's getting out.

Zipingo gift tagsMeanwhile, it doesn't hurt to brag to one's friends you're involved in something deemed "Web 2.0" -- local search, that is.

As for me? I'll probably add some of these tags to a few gifts, just so my family stops asking me what I do for a living. (sigh) If only my family was as rabidly enthusiastic about the Internet as I...

The remaining tags? As the bucket says, "They make fun key and luggage tags, too!" I'll just string a few on Christmas lights to hang up around the office.

Cheers,
